PRSSA at USF

A National Model of Excellence

About National PRSSA

In 1968, 20 years after its own establishment, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) founded the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). The declared purpose of PRSSA is to cultivate a favorable and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners.

PRSSA's Mission:  To serve our members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities; to serve the public relations profession by helping to develop highly qualified, well-prepared professionals.

About the Walter E. Griscti Chapter

Since its founding, the Walter E. Griscti Chapter of PRSSA has developed into a top-tier chapter filled with talented students eager to enhance their knowledge about public relations. Involvement in our chapter allows members to network with professionals and peers, learn about internships, gain valuable information from guest speakers, attend national conferences, publish articles in our newsletter, participate in the National Bateman Competition, volunteer in the community and attend socials each month.

Our chapter works closely with the Tampa Bay chapter of PRSA and the Tampa Bay chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) to provide numerous networking opportunities for our members. These strong relationships allow our members to work  face-to-face with those already in the industry.

USF Chapter of PRSSA won the 2008 third place award for Ethics
and Advocacy at National Conference in Detroit.

How can I get involved?

The best way to get involved with PRSSA is to attend our meetings! They are held every Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Marshall Student Center, Heron Room 3709. Refer back to our Web site for all PRSSA events!
