The intern will support ALSAC's staff as required by the organization for the implementation of fundraising activities. The intern will assist with special event planning, attend and assist in event operations, prepare media/press releases, assist in follow up activities, assist in recruiting sponsorship, and research necessary information for event planning. The intern must work effectively with all St. Jude staff, volunteers, and donors, and must represent St. Jude with a high level of enthusiasm and professionalism.
This is a paid position. The pay will be $7.25 per hour. The intern will work between 20-30 hours a week. This will be determined at the time of hire.
Job Requirement:
Major in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business, or other liberal arts background. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and strong oral and written communication skills. The intern must be actively enrolled in a related course of study in an accredited college or university as at least a sophomore (in good standing) and be at least 18 years of age. The intern must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality.
Bilingual Skills are a plus (oral and written):
Intern will write and design communication materials such as letters, e-mails, brochures, and flyers in Spanish. In addition, he/or she must be able to fluently communicate with the Spanish speaking community.

Duties: Duties and assignments will be defined by each department participating in HART's Internship Program.
Qualifications: In order for a College intern to remain employed at HART and maintain their Intern status, they must remain a full-time student while employed at HART. (A College Intern that has completed their educational requirements may continue their Internship for one year after graduation.) A College Intern must remain in good academic standing with a "C" or 2.0 (on a scale of 1-4) grade point average. All College Interns must submit a verification of enrollment from the registrar's office to establish a pay rate based on their year in school and as proof of full-time enrollment in college. Verification will be checked by the College intern Program Manager and must be provided each semester.
The rate of pay for an HART College Intern will be determined by their academic standing, based on the number of credit hours earned, as determined by the educational verification provided at the beginning of each academic term.

MOSI Internship
MOSI is seeking students in Marketing (Business), Special Events and/or Public Relations with specific knowledge and interest in marketing & PR. Candidates should have excellent writing skills, creativity, and be research savvy. He/she should have an interest in the news, and be prepared to offer (pitch) story ideas. Candidate should have an interest in learning how to secure promotion opportunities with local businesses and coordinating special events. Individuals with an interested in Public Relations will author press releases, media advisories, announcements; as well as editing/updating online event calendars and other promotional materials. Intern must be proficient in MS WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, & Access. HTML, Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop experience preferred but not required.
Eligibility
Candidate must be an undergraduate student or graduate student in any one of the disciplines mentioned above. Internships are NON-PAID. Interns who complete over 100 hours will receive a MOSI family membership (good for up to 5 people), not to mention INVALUABLE experience to include in their resume!
General Information
Interns are expected to work anywhere between 10 and 20 hours a week, between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday—special events may require additional intern hours. Internships are offered during the Summer, Fall, and Winter/Spring semesters. Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between MOSI and the university (permission required). All interns are subject to applicable MOSI employee code(s) of conduct.
